Dalmatia is a historic region along the eastern Adriatic coast. It stretches from the island of Pag in the north to the Bay of Kotor in the south; Split, Zadar and Dubrovnik are among its best-known cities.

The Makarska Riviera is a 45-kilometre stretch of the Croatian coast, running from Brela in the north to Gradac in the south, between the clear Adriatic Sea and the Biokovo mountain range.

Makarska is a coastal town at the heart of the Riviera. Biokovo rises above it, with Sveti Jure reaching 1,762 metres. The town combines long beaches, a lively promenade, a historic centre and many possibilities for day trips.
